Rules and Regulations
1.
Absolutely no drinking or alcoholic beverages will be allowed on
the Fairgrounds.
2. The judges decision will be final in all cases.
3. Stock Class Rules - No reinforcement allowed in the building
of the car except for the driver's door. A protective bar may be
put on the driver's door but it may not exceed 6-inches in front
of the door post or 6- inches beyond the rear post of the front
door. It can be either inside or outside the door.
4. Drivers or co-driver must be 18 years of age and may be male
or female.
5. Drivers or co-drivers must wear regulation-type helmets and
are responsible for supplying their own helmets.
6. Automobiles must be street stock and must have brakes.
7. The windshield may remain but all other glass must be
removed.
8. Anything loose must be removed and all molding and glass must
be removed.
9. Driver's door must be bolted, chained or welded.
10. Drivers and co-drivers MUST wear seat belts; shoulder
harness type may be used.
11. Front door must be painted white on each side of the
vehicle. All vehicles must have identification numbers printed
on both sides of the front doors and roof of car. Number size is
a minimum of 15-inches. Pre-Register and Reserve your car number
before it is used by someone else. All numbers on cars must be
very legible to the judges.
12. The engine must have a hold over the carburetor and it must
be 10-inches in diameter.
13. No external automatic transmission coolers are allowed.
14. The gas tank must be inside the automobile and mounted
securely. Maximum capacity of the tank is 5 gallons. (Example:
boat tank or gas tank must be mounted in the rear seat area when
rear seat is removed.)
15. A battery is the only acceptable item that may be located in
the front passenger area of the car and must be enclosed in a
plastic box.
16. Maximum tire size---235/70/15 straight tread only. Knobby or
rough tread is not acceptable. No fluid allowed in tires.
17. Bumpers must be cut so they don't smash into the tires
during the event. They may also be welded to the frame but no
filler may be used.
18. Hood and trunk lid can be chained one time with 3/8-inch
chain or smaller or bolted.
19. For inspection purposes, the trunk lid or hood cannot be
permanently tied down.
20. The battery must be covered if in car and must be secured
even in engine compartment. One 12-Volt battery only is allowed.
21. Rocker panel in front of rear tire cannot be any higher than
15-inches from the ground.
22. A 2-inch or smaller diameter pipe with a 6-inch x 6-inch
thick plate on each end of the pipe may be put on the dash or
behind the seat from side to side to support the seat back. It
must be directly behind the seat and may be no more than
6-inches behind the seat.
23. No frame or springs may be exposed.
24. Once competition has begun, No GAS OR ETHER can be sprayed
or poured into the carburetor to restart the car. The vehicle
has to start on its own power. NO EXTRA GAS OR ETHER ALLOWED IN
CAR AFTER MATCH STARTS.
25. No hydraulic oil allowed in radiator. Use only water or
antifreeze.
26. No sand, water, concrete, steel, rock, or the like can be
added to the car for extra weight.
27. Remove all stock gas tanks.
28. No Imperials allowed.
29. No Weld Class Rules:
a. Hood and trunk must open for inspection.
b. No welding allowed on car - No exceptions!
c. Doors must be chained to prevent opening.
d. Radiator must be in original location.
e. Any make or model of passenger car will be allowed except
1973 and older and
no ambulances or hearses.
f. Suspension must be original.
g. Reinforcing the car inside and out is not permitted.
h. Only 14" and 15" automotive tires are permitted.
30. Automobiles not making contact with other qualified cars
will be disqualified after 2 minutes and any car leaving the
ring will be disqualified. If a car is pushed out of the ring it
is disqualified. All hits must be QUALITY hits.
31. The flag must be raised if automobile is disabled.
32. A stalled automobile cannot be hit if the flag is displayed.
33. No hitting in driver's door or passenger door.
34. The automobile is subject to disqualification after 3 fires.
35. During all competition, driver or co-driver cannot get out
of car.
36. Cars hung together for two minutes are disqualified unless
contact is being made with another car.
37. A car is considered out of bounds and disqualified when a
wheel goes over the boundary side poles or a wheel goes over the
entrance line.
38. Contestants are allowed to have more than one car in each
heat.
39. If a car is used to qualify for a preliminary heat, the same
car must be used in the feature event.
40. All vehicles must be removed from the fairgrounds within 24
hours.
41. Absolutely no other person other than the driver and
co-driver and derby officials are allowed in the arena during
the Demolition Derby. All drivers, co-drivers and derby
officials must be 18 years of age.
42. All drivers and co-drivers must sign a waiver releasing the
Fulton County Fair Association, it's board members, and any
representative of the Fulton County Fair Association from any
liability incurred during the derby.
43. Entry fee is $25. The Driver and Co-Driver will be excluded
from gate charges. All others must pay the regular gate fee to
enter the fairgrounds.
44. All drivers must be signed in by 7:00 p.m. on the night of
the competition.
