The Fulton County Fair Horse Show will be held Tuesday, August 5. All participants should request a Horse Show Book from the Fulton County Fair Association or pick one up at the County Extension Office for a complete list of rules and regulations and entry form. All entries, with a copy of a current Negative Coggins Test, are due no later than Friday, July 25. Entries may be left at the County Extension Office in Salem, Perryman Realty in Viola, or mailed to the Fulton County Fair Association, Post Office Box 910, Salem, AR 72576 (must be postmarked by July 20). Late entries will not be accepted.

Each participant in the Fulton County Fair Horse Show must have the Permission to Publish on the World Wide Web (Internet) form signed. The form is available below the entry form and should be submitted with the entry form.

Eligibility & Requirements


Judging
The Horse Show Queen contestants will be judged on Horsemanship, Showmanship at Halter, and on Interview and Appearance. The contestants will be judged on their performance during the competitive event of their choice on their horsemanship ability. Interviews will be judged by Queen Judges immediately following the completion of their competitive event of choice.

Regulations
Participants MUST be a resident of Fulton County or attend a school or club in Fulton County. All participants must have NEVER been married or have had children. Any youth age 5-19 is eligible to participate.
Classes are as follows: Princess-(5-8years as of Jan. 1, 2008)
                                       Jr. Queen-(9-13years as of Jan. 1, 2008)
                                       Sr. Queen-(14-19 years as of Jan. 1, 2008)

Fees
Fees for the Fulton County Horse Show Queen Contest are $10.00 per contestant. All Queen contestants MUST participate in Interview, Showmanship at Halter, and MUST choose one competitive event to go towards their Horsemanship scores.

Rein
Anyone crowned Horse Show Princess, Jr. Queen or Sr. Queen is NOT eligible to compete in the Queen contest within the same age division of the year they will pass down their crown. In the event a new Queen is not crowned for any reason, the previous year=s queen will remain the titleholder and assume the responsibilities until a new queen is crowned. The Horse Show Queen, Junior Queen and Princess MUST agree to be available for participation in at least 2 county events throughout their one year reign. They MUST agree to participate in the crown passing ceremony to end their one-year rein.

Dress Code
Dress for the Queen's Contest will be western wear, and gloves are optional. Clothing must be clean and neat. Riders shall wear boots and hats or safety helmets. Shirts with a collar and sleeves are required. Spurs, chaps or similar equipment are optional. Ball caps are not acceptable.

Tack and Bits
Tack and bit requirements are the same as listed under Western Division Appointments.

Awards
The 2008 Fulton County Horse Show Queens will be crowned by the reigning Queen. The new Queens shall reign for one year. The Horse Show Queen, Junior Queen and Princess will all be awarded a hat-crown to be worn during their one year rein. A trophy, sash and roses will also be awarded to the winners. All awards will become the property of the winner.

Permission to Publish

Permission to Publish on the World Wide Web (Internet)

In order to ensure the privacy and safety of Fulton County Fair exhibitors and contestants, each exhibitor or contestant must decide if he/she will allow his/her name and picture(s) to be published on the Internet. Permission to publish this information is an individual choice, and exhibitors may elect to not allow these items to be published.

We will publish exhibit winners, beauty pageant contestants, horse show participants, etc. and may include photographs of individuals and groups. Names of individuals may be used to identify these people in photographs. Individuals with Internet access around the world will be able to view this information. We will publish photographs and names only with your written permission.
